"Lean/Six Sigma Fundamentals” Certification
The business world is constantly evolving to cope with advances in technology; process/product design, realization and marketing; environment; and social interactions. Since the late ‘80s, Lean and Six Sigma have become popular process improvement methodologies for the industry practitioner.
Many organizations such as Toyota, Motorola, Coca Cola, GE, John Deere, IBM, FAA, Air Force, and Boeing, require knowledge and application of lean and six sigma tools for competitiveness. Although each can be applied separately, in combination, they become an explosive tool set for breakthrough improvements in the manufacturing and the service sectors of both the industry and the government.
This 40 hour (five days, eight hours per day) certification workshop for University of Oklahoma College of Engineering students will focus on the background, basic principles, elements, and primary application areas of LEAN (three days) and SIX SIGMA (two days). We will also focus on the complementary aspects of each to develop an integrated improvement methodology.
