Times and Locations
Enrollments for course offerings listed above will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis, and both sections in a subject will be filled before waiting lists are started.
Mandatory check-in for both institutes runs from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. on Monday in the Thurman J. White Building, 1704 Asp Avenue, Norman, OK. All classes are held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 – 11:30 a.m. on Friday. The computer lab in the Forum will be available to participants for checking email only (no printing) when not in use by one of the classes at the Institute. Biology will take place in a lab in the Zoology Department on OU’s main campus, and teachers participating in that session will walk several blocks daily.
All participants need to come prepared for surprise, inclement weather and also need to be prepared to walk to any scheduled field trips on campus during the week.
Attendance, CEUs and Certificates
100% attendance at the AP* Institute is expected and must be verified to the State Department of Education. Sign-in sheets will be distributed at various times each day. This is not a workshop where participants can come and go or attend only the sessions they feel are important. Participants should view this Institute and the instructors as they would expect their students to view their classes and them. If you miss a portion of the Institute we are required to notify the Oklahoma State Department of Education, who may refuse to pay your tuition.
Participants who attend all sessions of the Institute will be awarded certificates indicating the dates, location, and 31.5 hours of instruction. Certificates are passed out on Friday morning of the Institute and are not available before that time. Certificates for partial attendance will not be issued.
